I am Grungir, Son of Ragron and Sigrid.
My Father, Ragron was the Cheiftain of my village in Denmark. I am now Cheiftain, but my Village has been destroyed, my Mother and Father killed in the raid. I managed to escape with my life, my sister Runa and her children.
We left for the ports, and happened upon a longship that would take us to an Island just off the coast of Wessex, the Isle of Angry Ghosts, or Wights.
My Mother taught me the ways of the healer, the herbs that could heal, and the herbs that could harm. You have to be able to harm if you want to be able to heal, she always said.
My Father, the Cheiftain, taught me the ways of the runes and the lore of the Gods, for the leader of a Village is both temporal and spiritual. I am dedicated to Tyr, the Old God. He who broke his own Oath in order to bind Fenris. He is the God of Honour, of Justice and War. He is also a peaceful God who values patience and moral uprightness. He is my Patron and my Guide.
And now I find myself working alongside the Cheiftain of the Village I have joined. She is a capable woman, a formidable ally, and a strong leader. I have shown her the runes, and the ways of Tyr. She has accepted me as Godi and Priest.
I am Grungir, Son of Ragron and Sigrid.
